By the Fall of 1963, President John F. Kennedy and political advisors were beginning to plan for the upcoming 1964 Presidential election. On Thursday, November 21, the President and first lady departed Washington D.C. on Air Force One for a two-day, five-city tour of Texas, including stops in San Antonio, Houston, and ending in Fort Worth in the evening. The following morning, on November 22, the Presidential party departed for a 13-minute flight from Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth and arrived at Love Field in Dallas at 11:38 a.m CST on Friday, November 22, 1963.
